GET IT looks to propel African food systems into the 21st century. Having recognised the need for consolidation and optimisation of the food service market in East Africa, GET IT is building a robust and world-class food supply chain network for the region, combining food production, manufacturing, and distribution.
In Rwanda, GET IT’s first market of operation, the business operates a broad-line food distribution company and is also an exporter of agricultural produce. Impressively, GET IT serves most of the top hotels and restaurants in the country. GET IT is currently the largest distributor of fresh produce in Rwanda and, due to their rapid growth, is now one of the largest employers in the country.
GET IT is continuously innovating and developing its model to drive positive value and impact for all the stakeholders in its value chain. This includes local farmers who earn fixed incomes, guaranteed off-taker agreements, and personal and professional training from GET IT. GET IT is the first company of its kind in East, West and Central Africa to receive ISO-22000 certification, and was the winner of the Women Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Rwanda Development Board in 2018.
We believe Chandaria Capital will be an instrumental partner in enabling GET IT to scale throughout East Africa and beyond. We look to learn from and leverage their decades of experience in the hospitality industry and their supply chain expertise. We anticipate finding significant areas of collaboration between Chandaria Industries, their current portfolio, and ourselves.
